In a heartfelt conversation between three generations of women, we’re invited into a powerful story about family, faith, and perseverance through life’s trials.

Growing up, life was simple but grounded in strong values. Church, Sunday school, and hard work were the cornerstones of their upbringing. The family didn’t have much, but they always had food on the table, a roof over their heads, and a strong foundation built on faith.

One unforgettable childhood memory was the night their family home burned down. Instead of despair, her mother saw it as a moment of divine intervention — a test of faith. Soon after, their community rallied around them, blessing them with more than they had lost. “What the devil meant for evil, God turned into good,” she recalls.

That foundation of faith carried into adulthood. As the only daughter, she learned responsibility early — cooking, cleaning, and caring for others while her mother faced illness. Her father instilled a strong work ethic that she carried into her own life, eventually leading her to become a successful hairstylist with her own salon.

But life wasn’t without heartbreak. She lost her son, Joseph, at just 17, after a long battle and a miraculous heart transplant. Despite her grief, she found strength in her faith and in her grandmother — a woman who also knew the pain of losing children. Together, they became each other’s support system.

Their family has faced divorce, addiction, sickness, and loss. Yet, through every trial, their faith in God held them together. As one of them put it, “We’re in the restoration now.”

Today, she uses her pain as purpose — encouraging others to find healing and wholeness through God. Her original song, “Broken Pieces,” reflects that message: that God can take even the shattered parts of our lives and make them whole again.

This family’s story is one of legacy — of faith passed down, of generosity inspired by a grandmother’s giving spirit, and of resilience that refuses to quit. From a burned-down house to a heart reborn, their journey reminds us that even in the ashes, beauty can rise.
