Keep Your Dream Quiet: What God Told You Is Not for Everyone

“You Can’t Tell Everybody Your Dream” – Sermon by Apostle Pauline Johnson

In this powerful and heartfelt sermon, Apostle Pauline Johnson centers her message on a key spiritual truth drawn from Genesis 37 and the life of Joseph: everything God reveals to you is not meant to be shared with everyone.

She begins by emphasizing gratitude, obedience, and the importance of walking in God’s righteousness. Through prayer and praise, she sets the tone—reminding believers that God is a guiding light who leads His people into truth and purpose.

The core of the message focuses on Joseph, who was favored by his father and given a divine dream about his future. However, when Joseph shared that dream with his brothers, it stirred jealousy, hatred, and ultimately led to betrayal. Apostle Johnson uses this story to highlight a critical lesson: prematurely sharing what God has spoken can bring unnecessary opposition.

Throughout the sermon, she explains that:

God often speaks to individuals privately for a reason.
Not everyone has the spiritual maturity or intention to handle your calling or vision.
Sharing too much can lead to sabotage, misunderstanding, or even others trying to take ownership of what God gave you.

Despite Joseph’s suffering—being sold, falsely accused, and imprisoned—God’s hand remained on his life. His trials were not punishment but preparation. In time, Joseph rose to a position of power and fulfilled his purpose, even becoming a source of salvation for his family.

Apostle Johnson reassures listeners that:

Affliction is part of God’s preparation process.
What God has for you cannot be stopped by people.
You don’t have to fight for position—God will elevate you in His timing.

She also stresses the importance of spiritual discipline: learning when to be silent, seeking God for understanding, and trusting Him fully rather than seeking validation from others.

The sermon closes with a call to salvation, inviting those without a relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him and begin a transformed life.

Key Takeaway:
When God gives you a dream, protect it. Be faithful, stay humble, and trust His process—because in the end, what He promised will come to pass.
